Today we headed out to see the city of Hanoi, this place is crazy busy and noisy. First off, there are loud speakers all over the city that come on at about 6 am and 4.30 pm each day, telling the locals how proud the party is of them, and how well and prosperous they are, and how good the future will be, then they talk about the latest news etc.
It's the worst morning alarm clock I have ever experienced.

The One Post Pagoda in town near the national heritage museun.
You can see in the photo, the speakers, and the city wiring that just can't be all that safe, and you would need a mathematician to figure out how to fix anything In apartment 10.

this sign says" socialist republic if Vietnam forever" . there is talk of changchanging g that because school isn't free, college isn't free, health care isn't free etc, so it's not really a true socialist state .
the ethnic museum was great, and the tomb of Ho Chi Minh is impressive too. I question though ,all these so called hero's who are responsible for millions of deaths, Mao who murdered millions, Lenin, and then Stalin who was responsible for the death of 32 million in the Forced Famine debacle alone, when he commandeered all the wheat in the region's around Russia, now Ho Chi Minh laying here in state. People flock to pay him their respect every day, why is it that we humans continue to find a way to honor and make these persons lives seem like they were something special?

lunch in a back alley, made friends with these two lovely people, Pat and Karen. Glad they were on tour.

had lunch in a seedy part of town, we headed to the  lotus Water Puppet Theater, this is a very regional style of performance, but it was fun and I enjoyed the show. It was dark in there so couldn't get photos.

walking around, taking in the sites. Its obvious the Americans are going to fatten these people up, whether they want it or not.

Tonight I think pat, Karin ,Caroline, and I are going to a fancy French restaurant for dinner. French influence is everywhere here, in the Colonial buildings , some spoken, and in the food. these are a few street scenes from Hanoi.

This is the benefit of being the right kind of communist
