It was a slow start, pat, Karen, Caroline and I all went out for dinner last night, lets just say " we wined alot".
Headed out to the airport as we were on our way to Da Many, then down to the coastal town of  Hoi An where we are staying two nights. Our plane was delayed two hours out of Ho ChiMinh, so we settled in for a few games of Green Lake Rummy.

When we finally arrived in Da Nang, the cooler weather was a welcome relief. Took about an hour to get to Hoi An, this place is just lovely. It's a small village on the coast that is today registered as a UNESCO Heritage site. I could live here, it has a calm and unspoiled feel about it.

We drove past CHINA BEACH, very famous during the Vietnam war, but don't refer to the ocean here as the South China Sea, the Viet dislike the Chinese, and seeing as China just claimed 80% of this sea for themselves, plus this week they sunk 5 Viet fishing boats for being in the area, they are very much hated on the quiet. This ocean is the East Sea.
Had a great meal tonight, and as we arrived home to this lovely hotel at 8.15, Pat, Carolina, Karen, and I popped over the road to a local for a beer, three beers, two scotch whiskeys, and a glass of wine, came to 9 dollars.  The people are so friendly here, aggressive sales people, but very nice

Arriving in Hoi An where we are staying for two nights, it was a pleasant surprise to find this little town to be real old world and full of charm. The hotel is very nice, as they have all been, so it was time to dive into the pool and cool off. Dinner tonight was tremendous again, and I took my laundry over to a local massage shop to be cleaned, I guess even the bar next door will clean your clothes. Tomorrow is a full day in town, and I have signed up for a cooking class. So, off for a swim
